Training and Influences
I've been practicing and studying yoga most of my adult life. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2012 with Jeanie Manchester at the Anjaneya School of Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. My training included the study of Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Anusara yoga systems as well as Tantric philosophy.
Jeanie was my first yoga instructor and meditation teacher. She was the first person I met who challenged me to see life through a very different lens. Jeanie is an incredible teacher who offers worldwide retreats and trainings as well as initiations into the mantra practice of Neelakantha Meditation.
In 2016, I was introduced to Jeanie’s sister, Susan Manchester. Susan was the first energy healer I ever met and worked with. She introduced me to my first experience into the realms of Spirit through the ancient form of African Cowry Shell Divination. Susan awakened the part of me that was yearning to walk a deeply devoted spiritual path and helped me realize my potential long before I could see it for myself.
A year later, I began studying with Elder Malidoma Patrice Somé. Malidoma is a West African Elder, world-renowned author, and teacher. I've had the honor of attending several Elemental Ritual Programs and Healing Intensives lead by Malidoma. These experiences always felt magical and life altering.
During my first private divination with Malidoma in 2017, I believe he saw my abilities as a healer years before I was ready to discover them for myself. He awakened in me a deep desire to follow the path of healing myself, and ultimately, others.
In 2018 I was initiated into Neelakantha Meditation as taught by Blue Throat Yoga. That same year I became a certified Reiki Master Teacher. I learned Reiki from Kelli Miller who is a psychic/medium, spiritual life coach, and transformational speaker. Kelli’s non-traditional approach to Reiki training instilled in me a deep love of energy work and hands-on healing.
In 2019 I attended numerous workshops lead by Ellen Winner and acquired over 80 hours of in-person training with her. Ellen is a Shamanic Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in classic Shamanic healing techniques. As a faculty member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, she teaches training workshops in core Shamanism.
I completed Jenny Schiltz's Soul Illumination Mentoring Program in 2019. Jenny has become a beloved mentor, healer, and spiritual teacher to me. Through her workshops, I have learned to connect with the Nature Spirits and walk a path of partnership with the Elemental forces. I hope to someday travel on a sacred journey with her.
In September of 2021, just two months before his passing, I completed my African Cowry Shell Divination certification with the late Elder Malidoma Somé. And, in 2023 I became a professional Akashic Record reader with the guidance of Anna Sayce.
